David Hess: Paralegal

David Hess has a B.A. from the University of Oregon. He worked as a broadcast engineer for nine years before joining Kafoury & McDougal in 2005.

 

 

 

 

Sandra Kucera: Paralegal

Sandi Kucera is a native Oregonian and is the owner of Dani the office dog. She has 36 years of experience in the legal field, and 28 years as a certified personal injury paralegal. She has worked for Kafoury & McDougal since 2002. She holds a Paralegal Studies Certificate from Ft. Steilacoom Community College in Tacoma, WA. in domestic relations, property, trusts, personal injury, probate and estate planning, and has attended law school.

Sandi has attended many continuing legal education presentations by the Washington State Bar, Oregon State Bar, and Michigan State Bar on personal injury damages.

Sandi Ran for Vice President of the United States with Ralph Nader in Oregon in 2004.

She is a past State President and member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. ESA is a women’s philanthropic sorority, with chapters all over the United States and Australia. ESA has built its own wing at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee. ESA donates eight to 10 million dollars per year to St. Jude and the ESA Foundation for Scholarships. Sandi has chaired many charity auctions and has planned state conventions and international conventions in Portland for over a 1,000 people.

 

Donna Engelman: Paralegal

Donna Engelman has been a paralegal since 1995. She works on complex cases, including medical malpractice, birth trauma, product liability, defective medical products and devices, industrial injuries, trucking and other major vehicle collisions, and civil rights. She was extensively involved in the Catholic priest sexual abuse cases. Ms. Engelman interviews clients, witnesses, obtains medical records and other investigative materials, finds and organizes information to establish liability, schedules experts, calculates damages and assists the attorneys at trial. She works closely with clients throughout the process of resolving claims.

 

Dustin Hawkins: Legal Assistant

Dustin graduated in 2006 from the University of Oregon with honors from the Comparative Literature Department. Dustin has been with Kafoury & McDougal since 2008.

 

 

 

 

Dennis Hall: Typist & Trial Specialist

Dennis Hall, our typist and trial specialist, joined the firm in September 2008, a week before his wedding. Dennis graduated from Clark College with honors in 2006 while working in the legal field since 2004. Currently a senior Natural Resources student at Oregon State University, Dennis is a photography enthusiast and avid whale watcher. He and his wife have photographed orcas near northwest Washington, gray whales off the coast of Oregon, and, most recently, sperm whales near Kaikoura, New Zealand.
